Depends on what we cant see from the picture. A DIY project for sure. Wouldnt be worth paying to have it done. I wouldnt just through it away.
If it were mine I would yes. I dont know your experience level. Restoring a boat with no structural issues is one thing, this is different.

I am by no means an expert on this level of damage, but I can only assume that it would be yes; and no.
Provided that there are not big areas of holes (which it does not appear there is), it can probably have new gunwales put on and for the most part be straightened out. I can only assume it will look bad, which is not something that would bother me, and might handle the way it used to.
However, it will be time consuming, difficult (flattening the kevlar), and probably more expensive than I care to guess at.. I know that the kevlar areas that are encasing foam are almost impossible to fix and will always give you problems.
If his shed was covered by insurance, than you should be getting a new boat. I think.

apparently there is considerable damage to the canoe that you cannot see in the photo. the ribs are popped and there is a fairly large puncture. it's toast. the allagash canoe in the foreground was a really nice handling canoe, it's been on some way up north adventures. still missing are a pair of fiberglass jensens, a whitewater 2 and a jensen of unknown name. the insurance guy isn't being very cooperative.

jwartman: That sucks. I am sure the insurance guy is a little flabbergasted at how much those canoes retail for. If the ribs were not messed up I would try to repair it (even the holes) but I have heard that damaged ribs in a kevlar are impossible to fix. That is rumor however, and perhaps a call to Wenonah is in order.
Good luck getting this all sorted out. If you plan on attempting a boat repair, you should document it and post it up here for everyone. Even if you don't, you should take more pictures and post them up. :P
