Does it irritate your skin at all? I haven't used it before. If it changes how the fabric feels on your skin at all it'd be hard to justify.

Like Rain gear Right said - Once it dries - you can not tell. I do clothes, hammocks and just about anything if we are going on big bug season!

I've dipped hammocks and bugnets before with no problem. Even my straps as I imagined ticks and bugs walking down from the tree to the hammock- probably overkill there!
I do think there is some mass-effect with permethrin- the more treated objects in a campsite the less dense the cloud of insects will be. I try to dip or spray just about every soft good.
Tarps are silicone material, so any liquid beads and doesn't stick.
