Watch Sawbill Outfitters website, or contact them. They sell off a portion of their rental fleet every fall, and usually includes a couple MNIII canoes. I would contact them now, maybe even arrange a down payment. Sawbill reconditions the canoes before selling.

As for the SR canoes, I have three and like them all very much. Over the years I had rented Souris River Quetico models. I love the stability and huge capacity. The weight isn't bad at all. Now that I own a Q16, Q17, and Q18.5, I still love those qualities, but also appreciate the ability to easily repair them. Souris River uses a layer over the Kevlar that makes it very easy to repair without causing the surface to fuzz. There are some pretty good tutorials on refinishing and repairing SR canoes online. Let me know if you have any specific questions. I'd try to help.

I have owned a mn3 for 15 years.
fast and straight tracking.
Senaca will have much more room and will be very stable .
I always paddle in the bow. You can not put your feet side by side.
If you need to stand up to get your lure out of a tree in a mn3 . it takes some skill
Senaca is rock solid.
If you paddle big water. lean toward the Seneca.
We have experienced big wave in the mn3. not fun.
I have both of these in my back yard and live by a lake if you come to Minneapolis before the lakes freeze.
My next canoe will be a northwind 20, but hard to find used. It has more volume then the mn3 and more stream linned then the Seneca
I am 60 and my brother 63. We would like a little more stability than the mn3. We were not a fan of the Seneca, really haven't paddled it much, only when empty. We do fish a LOT.
