Does anyone know who may still offer shuttle service between Moose Lake and Prairie Portage/Basswood Lake this late in the season? I may need to make arrangements this weekend to assist an injured solo tripper currently in the North Bay of Basswood Lake. Thanks for any leads you can suggest.

Do you need to take a medical person along?"
I’ve started calling all of the outfitters tonight. (Thankfully there is a nice list on this site, with contact info!!) The paddler is currently camped on North Bay of Basswood and messaged me from his Garmin InReach tonight saying he may need an assist to get out. I’m awaiting more details about his condition, so don’t yet know if medical is needed. He left Agnes (QPP) a couple days ago due to bad back pain (disk) and spasms and had a pretty tough travel day today. (“hardest ever”, as described by this very experienced solo tripper.) He took the S Chain out of Agnes to avoid the Meadows portages.
Based on my Fisher F-10 map, it doesn’t appear that motor boats are allowed in QPP in Basswood’s North Bay.

LaTourell’s responded early this morning and will assist the paddler by shuttle. We are grateful for the service they provide! (Medical assistance should not be necessary before he returns home.)

Great news. Steady as it goes and good wishes to the paddler and all involved. Take care!
