Had a cloud chart show up at work today. One of the best I have ever seen. ( I actual want to try and find an identical one for purchase) Very informative- especially for when your off the grid. Being able to identify the following clouds and know what they foretell (along with wind direction / temp and pressure trend ) will greatly help an individual more accurately predict the weather along with safety aspects.

I will try and post one cloud type every 3-5 days. Added will be a brief description found on the chart along with what wiki says about it.

We will start from the top (highest clouds) and gradually work our way down to the earth's surface.

First up - Cirrus types.

See these clouds? If you have had a rather tranquil spell of weather (several days or more) -- these clouds coupled with a falling pressure and Southerly Winds (esp SE) precip is a good bet in 12-24 hours

WW thank you so much for doing this. I have been trying to educate myself on what the clouds are and what they foretell. Our ancestors knew. I'm outdoors about every day and this is very helpful and could directly affect my safety when out in the woods & water.
