I was wanting to make pizza on my trip in June and had a question about sauce. I know I can buy pizza sauce in a squeeze bottle but I'm soloing and that would be way too much. So my thought was to buy a couple pizza lunchables before my trip and save the small pizza sauce packets that come with it and use those. My only concern is the pizza lunchables are in the refigerated isle but I believe it's because of the cheese and possible the bread and not the sauce. Does anyone know if the sauce packets have to be refigerated? Any suggestions on easy crust would be great too. My thought was to cook the pizza on aluminum foil on the fire grate.

Last year we dehydrated our pizza sauce and it worked really good and tasted just fine. In the dehydrator we lined a tray with wax paper and spread the sauce out over it and dried until it had a rubbery feel to it. For pizza crust we use Bisquick, there is a recipe either on the box or their website, I cannot remember where I found it but if I remember right you just need water.

Stop by your local Domino's and get 2 cups or marinara. Probably cost you $1. The cups are a bit fragile, but they are shelf stable.
Otherwise, dehydrate some spag sauce into a leather and rehydrate for your sauce.
Or
Dehydrate a few tomato slices, lay the rehydrated slices on your bread, sprinkle a blend of oregano, garlic, and basil on top, add cheese, a few bits of summer sausage...

Some of the pre made crusts have sauce packets with them like Boboli and others. Also check at the grocery store for boxes of pizza sauce packets. I know our stores have it in the squeeze bottles and the boxes of packets.

From what you're describing, a single Boboli sauce packet might be the perfect size for you. They sell them in boxes of 3 at the grocery store.

As to your other questions on an easy crust and cooking it on foil on the grate. For the crust since you are just going solo if weight isn't too big of a deal then take 1 or 2 small premade crusts, you can use pita bread or English muffins or Naan which is an Indian type bread that is like pita bread. Then all you have to do is warm up the crust a little with some olive oil on both sides and put your toppings and cheese on and put it on the grate on some foil. If you are taking a fry pan you could cook it in that also. If using the fry pan method after the pan has gotten hot with the pizza in it to melt the cheese just throw a little water, just a splash, and the steam will melt the cheese then.

I bought a 2 pack of small boboli crust but couldn't find the boboli sauce packets in the store. Do they come with the crust inside the bag? Also I'm going solo and can't eat both crusts in one sitting so how long will the other last out of the package?
