I just got back from a short trip to Wapakamaski [Wapi]. As you know we could'nt find the logging road into Harmon when we were up into the BrightSands P.Park in August. But thanks to jacvenagh, he gave me the GPS cords for the bay I was looking for I found the road, the portage, and had a great trip, well except for nearly freezing to death temps at night 26 degrees, temps during the day low 40's, and lots of rain, snow, and sleet and lots of wind [always in the face]. Wapi is in the B.S. park but you go 200 meters inland and your into Wabakimi. Took 8 1-2 hours of really hard paddleing from the portage into Harmon to my camp on Wapi. Walleye fishing was great, biggest was 22 in. but boatloads of 16 to 20 inchers, did'nt fish northerns much but biggest was 36 in. lots in the low 30 in class. Did see 1 boat about 2 miles away but no one else. Saw or heard 1-2 float planes a day usually a long way off. Hope to get something of a trip report done next week. FRED
