Kevlar Ultralight 17 Foot Wenonah

What would something like this usually run used? Trying to buy one off a relative who doesn't use it anymore and we're trying to come to a reasonable price. Condition is good, not great. No real issues though.

Any ballpark would be appreciated.

What model, there are quite a few 17 footers, with a lot of different personalities.

He has it up in the rafters and doesn't know the model. It's a tandem. Wish I had more info for you guys. I might in a day or two but just looking for ballparks.

What sort of features/personalities?

Well once you can figure out what model it is, you can check on Paddleswap to see what others are currently selling theirs for. Paddleswap

Some are wider, some are narrower, faster, slower, more/less initial stability. Spirit II, Boundary waters, Sundowner just a few that are all 17 foot, but different canoes. I am sure others here can name a few more.

I'd say around $1000 but if he doesn't use it anymore it's not really worth anything to him so maybe $700-800.

agreed. and if it's truly a relative.... then $700-$800 is a much fairer price.

Age is an issue. Last two digits of serial number will tell you.

I paid $1500 for a used 16ft Adirondack in UL kevlar, they also tossed in 2 seats and 2 bent shaft Bending Branches Espresso paddles. Canoe was like new and I thought this was a great deal. (Craigslist) About 4 years ago I passed up buying a Sundowner, also UL Kevlar, they wanted $800 but it wasn't cared for the best and after a test ride decided I didn't like the stability even though the price seemed right.

I paid $1750 for a one year old Wenonah Champlain, which is about what you pay in general for Outfitter canoes just for a top end reference.
