I just saw a Granite Gear Quetico portage pack sell for $62 online, brand new. Was watching it, had hoped to steal it for $40.

Quetico Pack on Ebay

If you bought yours a while ago, made in the USA, compare it to a new one. Now made in China, with much thinner material. You'd never see a new CCS pack sell for that small a fraction of the retail price on Ebay, or any other outlet.

No doubt it will still work and probably serve you well for a long time. Sorry for the hijack....I just wish I would have been convinced to go straight to CCS from the get go. Rather than having to sell off packs to upgrade.

If you do an advanced search on Ebay, you'll see that brand new Granite Gear packs regularly go for half price. Not good if you ever want to resell it. Good thing if you want one for cheap on Ebay though.

I saw this one on eBay.
Quetico Pack
It's $169. That's $50 less than retail. Appears to be a new pack not used.

I own a Granite Gear Superior One pack that I bought in 1986. I guess that makes it 30 years old now. I love it and would never get rid of it as its traveled too many miles with me. I also own 4 other GG Quetico packs.

But that being said, if I were going to buy a new pack at retail price, I too would get a Cooke Custom Sewing Hybird pack. The price is comparable and I would prefer to support a fellow board member who makes quality stuff.

But since the OP is looking for a used pack the likelihood of finding a used Granite Gear pack are probably greater. Occasionally new GG Quetico packs come up for sale on the Sierra Trading Post site for half the cost of retail.

If you've a lightly used GG Quetico portage pack, I'll pay you a fair price - and ask you to ship to me in Mpls area. Thanks! - Chris

Do yourself a favor and get a CCS hybrid pack. Better pack, and made in the USA by a great guy (Granite Gear is China)

I bought a GG Superior One right off the shelf in Two Harbors in 1989, when they were still actually made there I guess? The thing is bomber! I've replaced broken fastex buckles, that's about it. Too big for solo tripping, and I've gotten too crusty to attract partners I suspect - so I have to get something leaner. I looked at the CCS Hybrid online, look great! Much rather support a "local" and retail $ is no big deal. Thanks all! - Chris

Thank you ObiWen, it looks like a fine deal. I don't do Ebay however, and so I'll have to keep looking. I appreciate your kindness in this matter. - Chris

Well I wasn't really looking to get rid of it, but I have a brand new still has the tags on it GG Quetico pack. I got it 2 years ago for my young son, ordered online and it was supposed to be a short torso and they sent me a Reg. Size. Figured he would grow into it, but that will still be a few years.

I live in the TWin Cities south suburbs. I'd let it go for $160.00, otherwise I'll just hang on to it for the future.
