I'm guessing that you're champing to get into a solo. “I feel your pain” man. If I were you I'd give Johnhh's Magic a spin. And there is a little used, wood trim, white gel Bell Merlin II FS on the Madison Craig's List. I'd think both those boats would come in at around the 40lb class, lighter than a Prism or advantage in tuf-weave. If you're really looking for a minimal rocker ultra-lite then we'll keep looking.

I just pulled the trigger on a summersong. A little heavier at 45, but it sounds like a fun ride and the price is right.
It meets most of my needs and I hope a good start.
A few boats out there in NY, PA and OH that were attractive, just too challenging to get back.
Thanks for looking.

Johnhh,
That is a nice looking ride. There are a few that have my eye out there but I need to save more pennies. This, the Savage Rivers and Placid boats are all appealing. It would be nice to find something to fill the gap before my "dream" boat.
There are a few well priced good looking solo hulls out in the PA/NY area for anyone looking.

Nctry,
Thanks but that is likely too much boat for me. I am 5'8, 165 and usually with a <30 lbs pack.
Now if I could convince my dog to come, but I think we'd still be a bit too high.

Go up to Spring Creek and try my old encounter. Make an offer. With yoke and different seat it's about 45# now. But it's solid and a good ride.

John, you should get yourself a Dave Curtis made Kestrel. You won't find a sweeter boat and perfect for your size/weight. I have one but i like it too much to sell it.

I am looking for a tripping solo. Priorities are straight tracker and light. I used to have a Yellowstone and that is not the direction (obviously) that I want. I just drove a Prism from VNO a few weeks ago and LOVED it! I would like a prism but am open to other options that can perform in that manner.
I don't mind heavy usage/ugly if the price is in line.
Thanks, John
