Worthless for the boundary waters; but some boundary waters paddlers, have in the past, done some whitewater. Might have a Rival stored away, or some other solo made by Dagger or Mad River. So this is one of those nothing ventured/nothing gained want ads. Pictured is one of my most recent finds after restoration efforts. It's a Mad River Flashback, model 1. Thanks for looking, BOB |

Last spring I posted a want ad for a 15' Dagger Reflection here on BWCA.com. After several months of seeing it and mulling it over, HighPlainsDrifter decided to part with one of his two 15' Reflections from 1990, first year for the model. Its been a wonderful boat for me so far. An awesome and under appreciated royalex-intended hull design from S. Scarborough, with asymmetrical delta form, good wind resistance and rock solid stability. Totally worth the wait - thank you so much Joe! I've paddled it once a week or more since mid summer. Love that old school heavy duty royalex layup from the Dagger company. Good luck with your search. edit: a long way from MO, but here is one that looks pretty good: http://www.ebay.com/itm/dagger-rival-canoe-/252557437322?? another, more of a "scenic" drive from MO: http://westslope.craigslist.org/boa/5763469499.html |

In this vein, I have a Mohawk XL14 whitewater canoe set up with the triple saddle from the factory. No air bags, this 1998 boat is a little ugly but the royalex is in good shape. $500 firm. In North Central Indiana near Kokomo. |

The Rival in Colorado is very tempting, until I start thinking about shipping cost, or a 2,000 mile round trip, plus expenses to retrieve it. It certainly does appear to be in the condition I'm seeking; that makes it difficult to pass up. I used to do some paddling in Arkansas; have done multiple trips on the Spring, North Fork of the White, Mulberry, and the Buffalo. Especially when they got a "frog choker" and rose dramatically. Thanks for the heads up on a possible............, I'll keep looking, BOB |

14 footer is more canoe than I want or need; triple saddle would be useless dead weight. I paddle solo, as does my wife; she doesn't do any whitewater. Already have Mohawk XL 13, and Odyssey. Looking for shorter, lighter solos. Thanks for heads up, BOB |
