Spring inbound birds have yet to show up. What I have noticed is winter birds that have left. Yellow-bellied Sapsuckers are gone as well as Hermit Thrushes. I haven't seen a White-throated Sparrow in a few days. They may be gone, too. Northern Harrier seems to have moved on.

I wish someone would call home the flock of Pine Siskins that have aggressively dominated our feeders since early January. I am pleased to have them as they don't show up here very often, but I would love for them to go soon. Although they did chase off the squirrels this year!

I was just thinking of the hummers today. Have had my hummer feeder out for a week now. Should be really soon, as I am in the far NW suburbs of Chicago, about 20 miles south of the Cheddar Curtain.

It's that time of the year again when we look forward to the arrival of our bird friends that have traveled north from their winter grounds.

So far this very early spring I have seen.

Red Wing Black Birds
Cardinals singing their spring songs
Sandhill Cranes heading north
Robins (they never left)

What is everyone else seeing?
